How a Job Runs

Most single-room jobs are loaded in well under an hour. Full cleanouts take longer, but the steps stay the same.

  1. 1

    You describe the load

Tell us what's going, where it sits in your home and whether there are stairs. Photos help but aren't required. We give you a price range and an arrival window.

  2. 2

    We confirm on site

The crew looks at the items, confirms the price and answers questions. Nothing gets lifted until you say yes.

  3. 3

    We load and protect

We pad corners and doorways on tight carries, take apart what won't fit through, and load the truck in order so heavy pieces ride low.

  4. 4

    We sweep and haul

Once the area is empty, we sweep or rake it so you're not left with broken glass or packing peanuts. Then the load goes to recycling, donation or disposal.

What We Haul From Your Home

Most calls are for one of two things: a few heavy items you can't move yourself, or a whole space that needs emptying. We handle furniture removal, appliance removal and general junk removal for single pieces, plus garage cleanouts, basement cleanouts and storage unit cleanouts for larger loads. We also take construction debris left after a remodel, and offer commercial junk removal for offices and storefronts. Pick the service closest to your job, or describe it on the phone and we'll tell you how we'd handle it.

What Moves the Price

The largest share of any quote comes from the cubic yards your load occupies once it's stacked in our truck bed. After that, a handful of smaller details nudge the number one way or the other. Each is listed below with the reason it counts.

Most jobs can be priced over the phone from what you tell us. For a big or hard-to-picture load, we'll stop by and look at it for free, with no commitment to book, and the crew confirms the number in person before loading so nothing gets tacked on later.

Space in the truck bed
This is the biggest factor. A single recliner and a garage full of boxes sit at opposite ends of the scale, and most jobs land somewhere between.
Weight and material
Dense loads like concrete, roofing shingles, tile and plaster fill a truck's weight limit before they fill its space. Those cost more per cubic yard than the same pile of cardboard or foam cushions.
Access and carry distance
Items at the curb load fastest. A dresser coming up basement stairs or down from a second floor takes more time and more care, and that shows in the price.
Items with special handling
Refrigerators, freezers and window AC units hold refrigerant that must be recovered before scrapping. Mattresses and tires also carry separate disposal fees at many facilities.
Disassembly
A crib or bookcase that comes apart easily adds little. A built-in workbench or a sectional bolted together does add labor.

How We Work and Why It Matters to You

You should know what you're paying for and why. Here is how a job with us actually runs.

The price is set before loading

We look at the pile, estimate the cubic yards it will fill and give you a number. You approve it, then we load. If the pile turns out smaller than you described, the price goes down, not up.

We tell you what we can't take

Some materials belong with a hazardous-waste program, not a junk truck: wet paint, solvents, pool chemicals, propane cylinders and anything that may contain asbestos. We say so on the call so you aren't left with a surprise on haul day.

Heavy items come out without damage

A sleeper sofa has a steel frame that weighs more than it looks, and a chest freezer can tip on stairs. We wrap door frames and banisters where needed, use straps and dollies, and take bed frames or sectionals apart when they won't clear a doorway.

Loads get sorted, not just dumped

Scrap metal from appliances and bed frames goes to recycling. Furniture and household goods in usable condition go to donation when they qualify. The rest goes to a permitted disposal facility.

One crew, start to finish

The same people who confirm your price do the lifting and the sweep-up. You have one point of contact on the day, and nobody hands your job off halfway.

A Chamblee Junk Hauling Crew

We're a local junk removal company that hauls from homes across Chamblee and the surrounding area. The work is physical and simple, but the part customers notice most is whether they knew the price ahead of time. That's the part we focus on.

We can often get to you the same day you call or the day after; it comes down to how booked the trucks are and how much you're clearing out. If a job needs more than one trip or a second crew, we tell you before we start rather than partway through.

Straight Answers to Common Questions

Something not covered here? (404) 383-9607

How much does junk removal cost?

It depends mostly on how much truck space your items need, then on weight, carry distance and any items with disposal fees, such as mattresses or refrigerators. We can usually quote by phone from a short description. Larger jobs get a free on-site estimate, and the price is confirmed before loading.

Will the price change once you show up?

Only if the load is different from what was described, and you hear about it before anything is lifted. If there's less than expected, the price goes down. You are never billed for something you didn't approve.

Do I have to carry anything outside?

No. We pick items up from wherever they are, whether that's a basement, a bedroom upstairs, an attic or the back of the garage. You just point.

What can't you take?

We don't haul hazardous materials: liquid paint, solvents, motor oil, pool chemicals, propane tanks or anything suspected to contain asbestos. Dried latex paint cans, appliances and most electronics are fine. If you're unsure about an item, ask on the call.

Do I need to be home during the job?

Not always. If the items are outside or in an unlocked garage, we can confirm the price by phone and load while you're away. For anything inside your home, someone needs to let us in.

How quickly can you get here?

We often have openings the day you call or the next morning. Whether we can take your job that fast comes down to how full the trucks are and how big the load is. Large cleanouts usually go on the calendar a few days ahead so the right truck and enough hands show up.

What happens to my old stuff?

We sort it. Metal goes to scrap recycling, usable furniture and household goods go to donation when they qualify, and the rest goes to a permitted disposal facility.
