Furniture Removal in Chamblee
We take apart and carry out the furniture you no longer want, from a worn sectional to a solid oak dresser on the second floor. You get a clear price before we lift anything, and we sort each piece for donation, recycling or disposal.

When Furniture Removal Is the Right Call
Furniture is often heavier and clumsier than its size suggests. The fold-out steel mechanism inside a sleeper sofa adds a lot of dead weight, and a power recliner carries a motor, a wiring harness and a transformer under the seat. Solid wood dressers and armoires get heavy fast, while particleboard pieces tend to break apart at the cam locks once they are moved. That is why a single item can stall a weekend.
Furniture removal makes sense when a piece is too heavy or too large to handle safely, when you are replacing a set and the store will not haul the old one, or when you are clearing a room before a move or a renovation. If the furniture is part of a bigger cleanout, our junk removal service covers the rest of the room in the same visit.
What Our Furniture Removal Covers
- Sofas, sectionals and sleepers
- We separate sectional pieces at their connector brackets and fold sleeper mechanisms closed before carrying. That keeps the steel frame from swinging open on the stairs.
- Mattresses and box springs
- Any size, including adjustable bases. We bag mattresses when needed so nothing rubs against your walls on the way out.
- Bedroom and dining sets
- Dressers, headboards, bed frames, tables, chairs and china cabinets. Drawers come out first and glass shelves are wrapped separately.
- Recliners and lift chairs
- Power recliners and lift chairs are unplugged and moved as one unit when the doorway allows, or split at the back brackets when it does not.
- Office and outdoor furniture
- Desks, filing cabinets, bookshelves, patio sets and rusted metal gliders from the deck or yard.
- Disassembly and cleanup
- We bring the hand tools to remove legs, doors and hardware. After the piece is out, we sweep the floor where it stood.
Signs It Is Time to Have Furniture Hauled Away
Sagging seats or broken springs
Once the sinuous springs pull loose from the frame or the foam breaks down, cushions sink and reupholstering often costs more than the piece is worth.
A cracked or wobbling frame
Loose glue joints and split rails get worse with every use. A wobbling chair or bed frame is a safety issue, not just a looks issue.
Odor, mildew or pests
Upholstery soaks up pet odors and smoke, and damp storage can grow mildew in the fabric and padding. Bed bugs or other pests mean the piece should leave your home whole and wrapped.
A new set on the way
Many stores leave the old pieces behind when they deliver. Getting them out a day or two early clears floor space and leaves the hallway open for the new furniture to come through.
How a Furniture Pickup Works
- 1
Tell us what is going
On the phone, list the pieces, the rooms and any stairs. We give you a quote on that call. If you prefer that we look at everything in person, we can schedule a free, no-obligation on-site estimate instead.
- 2
Confirm the price on arrival
Our crew looks over the furniture and the path out, then confirms the price before any work starts. Upfront pricing with no hidden fees means the number does not change once we begin.
- 3
Protect, take apart and carry
We pad door frames and banisters, remove legs or doors where clearance is tight, and carry each piece out by hand. Nothing gets dragged across your floors.
- 4
Sort and sweep
Usable pieces are set aside for donation, metal frames and springs go to recycling where possible, and the rest goes to disposal. We sweep up before we leave.

What Moves the Price of Furniture Removal
Two things set most of the price: the share of the truck bed your pieces fill and the labor it takes to get them from the room to the truck. We walk through each factor on the call, so every part of the quote makes sense before you say yes.
- Volume and number of pieces
- A lone recliner fills one corner of the truck bed, while a sofa, loveseat, coffee table and entertainment center can fill a good share of it. Larger loads cost more overall but usually less per piece.
- Weight and construction
- Solid hardwood, marble tabletops and sleeper sofas with steel frames take extra hands or extra time to move safely.
- Access and stairs
- Ground-floor rooms with a straight path to the door are the simplest. Narrow stairways, tight landings and long carries add labor.
- Disassembly needed
- Pieces that will not fit through a doorway whole, such as a bunk bed or a large wardrobe, have to be taken apart first, and that time is part of the quote.
- Mattresses and special handling
- Mattresses and items with pest or mildew issues need wrapping and separate handling, which can affect the price.
Furniture Removal Questions
Something not covered here? (404) 383-9607
Can you take a couch that will not fit through the door?
Usually, yes. Most sofas have removable legs, and many have bolt-on arms or back panels. If a piece was assembled inside the room and truly cannot come out whole, we tell you before cutting it down and only do so with your OK.
Should I haul the pieces outside before your crew shows up?
There is no need. Our crew lifts each piece from the room where it sits, whether that is an upstairs bedroom or a finished basement. If you have already set something by the driveway, we will pick it up there just the same.
Will my old furniture be donated?
Pieces in good shape often are. Charities generally turn down upholstered items with stains, tears or odors, and particleboard furniture that has been taken apart, so those go to recycling or disposal instead. We give you an honest answer about which is likely for your pieces.
Is it possible to get a pickup this week?
Most of the time, yes. We have same-day and next-day service available, and the exact slot comes down to how many jobs are already booked when you reach us. We settle on a time window before the call ends.
Do you take appliances along with furniture?
Yes. If a washer, fridge or freezer is going too, we can handle it on the same trip. Our appliance removal page explains how we deal with refrigerants and water lines.
Do you serve areas outside Chamblee?
Yes. We regularly pick up furniture in Doraville, Dunwoody, Brookhaven, Tucker and nearby towns. The Service Areas page lists the full area.

Get That Furniture Out of the Room
Name the pieces and the rooms they are in, and we will give you a free quote on that same call. If you want us to see the furniture first, we can come out for an on-site estimate.
